The Hochwald Group differentiates itself from other companies in the market by being structured as a cooperative. As members of the Hochwald Milch eG, our milk suppliers have always been an active part of our company. We work together to ensure our success is sustainable – economically by adding value accordingly, ecologically by protecting the environment and conserving resources and socially by working together with mutual respect.

 

Values such as integrity, reliability and credibility are of great importance within our company as well as in our dealings with suppliers, customers and multipliers. Hochwald thrives on cooperation and collaboration. We trust each other in our work, help one another and respect each other – out of principle and because it makes us more successful. For us, values and performance are inseparable. 

MILK PRODUCERS

Cooperatives create value for their members. That is their legally-defined unique selling point. This is reflected in Hochwald’s corporate structure in its cooperative committees which are staffed by our members on a voluntary basis. Almost 9,000 people work on the farms that deliver to our cooperative. 

We regularly work together closely to discuss and share ideas on forward-looking topics in the various committees to further promote sustainability, such as in the Hochwald Forum for the Future (Hochwald-Zukunftsforum). Through training courses and workshops, we offer our farmers further educational opportunities on various subjects from animal welfare to stock market hedging.

 

EMPLOYEES

We can only remain competitive with highly qualified specialists. Every day, our employees work responsibly to ensure the quality of our products.

We are working on developing the next generation of employees systematically and offering customised qualification programmes to our employees. We are constantly developing our training courses, which were high-quality from the start, and investing sustainably in this area. Both parties benefit from a trainee being taken on as a permanent employee. Currently at five percent, the trainee quota remains stable. 

Every employee contributes to Hochwald’s success. To this end, managers act as role models. Their job is to support employees in their development because team members who are committed, qualified and responsible help us achieve the goals we have set for ourselves. We support our managers with customised training courses.

 

SOCIAL COMMITMENT

All our company’s sites are deeply rooted in their regions, and we are keenly aware of our responsibility to society as a whole. Therefore, with full transparency, we support clubs, associations and institutions that operate regionally.

Since 2005, Hochwald has been supporting Herzenssache e.V., a children’s aid campaign run by SWR, SR and Sparda-Bank. In addtion, we organise other charity projects in collaboration with SOS Kinderdorf e.V., Aktion Mensch, the Deutsche Kinderhilfswerk and the Kinderglück Foundation. Furthermore, every year the trainees at our sites participate in a joint initiative for a social project in the local area.
