Training par

Our apprentices have rated their training at the Thalfang site with 4.84 stars out of a possible 5. We are proud to receive such an impressive rating, and this shows above all: Hochwald excels at training! IHK Trier honored our training achievements in January 2024 with the accolade of “Ausgezeichneter Ausbildungsbetrieb” [Excellence in Training]. Since this award was introduced in 2005, it has only been granted 27 times. We would like to congratulate all the employees involved, including eight trainers and four voluntary examiners, for this impressive achievement.

We treat our apprentices as equals and offer them opportunities for their future career. Colleagues share their technical and social skills, promoting independent, sustainable, and economic thinking and conduct. Our apprentices also enjoy extensive benefits: We guarantee our apprentices the best possible training experience through carrying out social projects, talent management, a factory exchange scheme, training promotion, apprentice meetings, and day trips.

100% recommendation and 4.84 stars out of 5: Our apprentices gave our company site in Thalfang this top rating. And this was honored with the accolade of “Ausgezeichneter Ausbildungsbetrieb” [Excellence in Training] by the Trier Chamber of Trade and Industry.  “One of the strengths of Hochwald Foods is its talent management,” said IHK Chief Executive Jan Glockauer at the official presentation of the award, attended by our dedicated apprentices, our Managing Director Detlef Latka, and Helga Dohm-Witt (Head of Training and Recruiting).

Our success is evident in the result. Apprentices at Hochwald Foods GmbH regularly achieve above-average test scores and are often among the honorees at the annual IHK event celebrating the year’s top apprentices.  “Training skilled workers is a key component for obtaining new employees,” emphasizes Detlef Latka. “Many of our former apprentices now work in managerial roles.” With the Azubi+ program, the company specifically invests in its own talent and promotes not only technical expertise but also social skills. “Our company group offers diverse career opportunities as well as excellent training,” Latka continues.

It is called the “gateway to the Eifel region” and is home to our most recent and most advanced dairy factory. The small town is well worth a visit, as is the surrounding region with a national park, open-air museum, and a well-preserved moated castle. “Phantasialand,” the leisure park located nearby, is great entertainment for young and old alike. Mechernich is also home to the Eifel Aqueduct, one of the longest aqueducts in the Roman Empire that once supplied drinking water to ancient Cologne.
