HOCHWALD FOODS GMBH THALFANG PROVIDES EXEMPLARY TRAINING  - IHK TRIER AWARDS PRIZE 

100 percent top recommendation with a rating of 4.84 out of 5 stars: This is the outstanding rating awarded by apprentices to Hochwald Foods GmbH in Thalfang, an achievement that has now been recognised by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) in Trier who awarded the company the title of “Excellent Training Company”. The award was presented to Detlef Latka, Managing Director, and Helga Dohm-Witt, Head of Training and Recruiting at Hochwald, at a ceremony organised by Jan Glockauer, Managing Director of the IHK.

“Hochwald Foods is distinguished by its outstanding talent management,” said Dr Glockauer. An induction week already laid the foundation for a successful career for the apprentices. The Thalfang-based company complemented this with a wide range of additional in-house training programmes. The success is evident in the results. Hochwald Foods GmbH apprentices regularly achieve above-average examination results and are frequently represented at the IHK’s annual “Best Apprentice” ceremony. This achievement is also down to all employees, because training is seen as a team task and is part of everyday life at Hochwald.
The tradition-rich company from Thalfang also attaches great importance to voluntary work. The commitment of the four volunteer examiners ensures that the examinations are carried out to the highest standards. Further involvement in various working groups and school collaborations highlights the company’s interest in dialogue and cooperation in the field of education. “This commitment is simply extraordinary and exemplary,” praised Dr Glockauer.

“Training skilled professionals is an essential component in attracting new employees,” emphasises Detlef Latka. Many former apprentices now hold managerial positions. “The ‘Azubiplus programme’ invests specifically in our own talents and promotes not only technical skills but also social ones. “Alongside excellent training, our group of companies also offers a wide range of career prospects,” added Latka.

This is the 27th time since 2005 that the IHK Trier has awarded this title to a training company. Hochwald Foods GmbH currently trains 83 young people in 12 professions and employs eight trainers. They also have four IHK examiners working on a voluntary basis.
