Business policy guidelines

Hochwald Nahrungsmittel-Werke GmbH (Hochwald) is a 100 percent affiliate of the cooperative Genossenschaft Erbeskopf Eifelperle eG, based in Thalfang/Hunsrück. With the company structure of a cooperative, Hochwald has the task of processing and marketing the products supplied by the agricultural shareholders and by generating as much value as possible in order to contribute to product sales and the income of the farmers in the company's catchment area.

We are anxious to process the available raw material into foodstuffs which meet the requirements of customers at home and abroad. In this process we consider it our obligation to organise production subject to issues of consumer protection, hygiene, environmental protection and economic principles.

At Hochwald, we consider an important requirement for sustainable economic success to ensure constant quality according to the demands of our customers and the statutory requirements for all products as well as for business and production processes. The general conditions for this are determined by our quality management system, which is oriented to international standards and is regularly inspected by approved external institutes.
For us, controlled processes are the basis of constant optimisation and improvement for the sake of our customers and economic further development of our company.

Essential basic principles for the achievement of our Hochwald objectives are commitment, responsibility and good professional skills of all employees. This requires job satisfaction and the chance to deploy own skills. Subject to preserving the overall interests of the company, employees therefore should contribute as far as possible to the design of their workstations. Our employees get the chance to receive professional further education. We consider the annual recruiting of apprentices for all business sectors a requirement to ensure the flow of junior staff.

As a manufacturer of foodstuffs for daily use, we bear in mind that the processed raw materials are produced in a healthy environment and that the environment will not be harmfully influenced by our own business processes. In this way, we want to prevent any detrimental influence to the manufactured products and the employees. We consider it an obligation to cooperate with the agricultural producers and all other suppliers of raw materials, auxiliary substances and packaging materials for quality assurance and avoidance of environmental impacts to protect the resources.

Any possible avoidance of material loss and the optimisation of energy consumption according to state-of-the-art science and technology are as important to us as optimisation of packaging.

Our quality management system as an important requirement for success and further development of our company can be successful only if all employees at their workstations and with collective cooperation contribute to implementation and constant improvement.
